எனக்கு சிறு வயது முதலே பொருட்கள் எவ்வாறு இயங்குகின்றன என்று தெரிந்து கொள்வதில் ஆர்வம் " கொஞ்சம் " அதிகம்.நான் திறந்து பார்க்காத பொருட்களே இல்லை என்று சொல்ல முடியும்.(பேனா, காஸ் stove, washing machine, dish washer, mixie, cell phone, cycle, bike)
அதனால் விளைந்த misgivings பற்றி சில குறிப்புகள்.
ஒரு முறை வீட்டில் fan சுற்ற வில்லை. நம்மால தான் சும்மா இருக்க முடியதுலே அதை கழட்ட முயற்சித்தேன். பகிரத பிரயத்தனத்துக்கு பின்பு அதை கீழே இறக்கினேன். (ceiling fan உயரமா இருக்கும் சின்ன வயசுல). அதுலே இருக்க அழுக்க clean பண்றேன்னு சோப்பு தண்ணிலே ஊறவைத்து விட்டேன். பின்பு அனைத்தயும் reassemble பண்ணி மாட்டி விட்டேன். நான் என்ன கற்பனை பண்ணினேன் என்றால் dust தான் அதை சுற்ற விடாமல் நிறுத்தி வைத்து இருந்தது என்று.
பின்பு electrician வந்து சரி பண்ணும்படி ஆகிவிட்டது (என்ன சரி புது fan தான் வாங்கினோம். நான் தான் அதை தண்ணிரில் குளிப்பாட்டி இருந்தேனே).
only later did i realise that the problem with the fan was the condenser and changing it does not require the fan to be brought down.
இந்த முறை vacuum cleaner. அக்கு வேறு ஆணி வேராக அதை பிரித்து விட்டேன். அப்புறம் அது எப்படி suction force கேநேரடே பண்ணுகிறது என்று தெரிந்து கொள்ள switch ஐ போட்டேன். மறு நொடி அந்த motor தரையில் உருண்டு ஓடி அடங்கியது. பின்பு தான் அந்த எச்சரிக்கையை படித்தேன். " high speed motor.secure the motor before running". நல்ல வேளை carbon brush மட்டும் தான் உடைந்து இருந்தது .
அடுத்து tv. திடீர் என்று எங்கள் வீட்டு tv தனது ஓடத்தை நிறுத்தி கொண்டது. நான் தான் ஆர்வ கோளாறு ஆயிற்றே. உள்ளே திறந்து சரி பண்ண துவங்கி விட்டேன். நல்ல வேளையாக என்னுடைய கணிப்பு சரியாக இருந்தது fuse தான் போய் இருந்தது.
இல்லை என்றால் நான் பரலோகம் போய் இருக்க வேண்டியது தான்.( the capacitor energising the CRT is capable of storing charges that can kill a person instantaneously )
என்னுடைய விளையாட்டுகள் பல தோல்வியில் முடிந்து இருந்தாலும் நான் அந்த ஆர்வத்தை அடக்க நினைத்ததே இல்லை. வெற்றி பெற்ற expts பற்றி கூறினால் அது அவ்வளவு சுவாரசியமாக இருக்காது. only failures can teach.
psychology இல் படித்த intrinsic motivation பற்றி சில வார்த்தைகள்.
they are not affected by the external reward.
they are not affected by the success or failure of the outcome.
they are mainly involved in the pleasure of doing the job itself

I think we went through the same ages here...it affected my first bsa slr cycle..solidaire TV,,vcd player...national two in one set..after all running around the home to escape from beatings of my om...
but you missed your imaginative capacity here..which me and naga alone have realized and surprised...
